When we are coaching clients on the types of blog posts and what to post about, we often talk about styles of posting and what each is good for. Some types of posts are good when you don’t have time to really write something detailed. Link posts are great to start to provide resources for readers. Using a “top ten” list style is wonderful link bait - using driving curious readers to click and read more. Yet until now, these categories we have intuitively understood haven’t been aggregated together. In an effort to put all of this information together, we just designed a presentation for the World’s Best Presentation Contest over at Slideshare that outlines our list of the 25 basic styles of blogging, and when to use each one. You can see the presentation here:
If you like the presentation, follow the links to SlideShare and add your vote. And if you’re a blogger, let us know which styles you use more often, and if there are others you use which we missed.
