We are thrilled to be partnering with the Lance Armstrong Foundation on expanding the LIVESTRONG mission from a national force to a global movement. As movements are all about participation, we got started recently with the relaunch of livestrongblog.org as a true social media platform for all of LIVESTRONG. There, you can see tweets not just from (#23 Twitterholic) @lancearmstrong and @livestrongceo, but the messages of support from around the world with the #livestrong hashtag. The same goes for video and photos – feeds for both of which you’ll find straight from the LAF and from worldwide supporters.
In the first few months of our partnership with the LAF, my awareness has been heightened to the overwhelming amount of LIVESTRONG support and participation around me. I see yellow wristbands everywhere – from the guy fitting my kid for shoes at the mall to the characters on Friday Night Lights and scores of Australians lining the race route at last week’s Tour Down Under dressed in head-to-toe yellow with “GO LANCE! LIVESTRONG” banners. While it isn’t surprising that widespread support exists for this effort to make real progress against a disease that will become the #1 killer worldwide in 2010, the unique ways that people have chosen to incorporate LIVESTRONG in their lives and take action through activism, fundraising, survivor services, early prevention and storytelling make it a natural magnet for great social media content.
If you have a moment, I invite you to check out the site and consider following along as the LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Campaign unfolds.

I joined this social network after they had an awesome app on the iPhone & iPod Touch. However you have to have internet access either by the phone or wifi to use the apps.
So far it has been awesome and can’t wait to meet more people on it.
