If you have a pulse, you’ve probably heard about the new iPhone 4. After weeks of anticipation and swirling rumors of an abandoned iPhone 4 lost in a bar in Redwood City, CA in mid-April,  it’s. finally. here. With HD video recording, video chatting, and a multitude of sleek features,  it’s not surprising that industry experts are calling it Apple’s most successful launch to-date. We already know that the mobile web is growing exponentially –there are more than 100 million active Facebook  mobile users, and those mobile users are twice as active on Facebook than non-mobile users. This stat alone confirms the large appetite for mobile experiences and when you combine that knowledge with the fact that the new iPhone 4 offers new high resolution display, the possibilities for mobile engagement are taken to whole new level. In addition, after trying out iOS 4 and the new iAd network,  it’s likely brands  will now be able to create compelling ads that are truly as powerful and have similar functionality as some of the applications currently available for download from the iTunes store. And speaking of applications, it’s possible consumers will also be able to more seamlessly make purchases within applications with the new functionality.

With all of the sophisticated tech features and improvements, the iPhone 4 promises to deliver impressive entertainment and gaming experiences as well as stronger social media interactivity for users. This means marketers everywhere will need to change their mobile strategy to take advantage.

How do you think the new the iPhone 4 will change mobile marketing? How will brands need to alter their current mobile strategies? Share your thoughts.

I’m not sure about the benefits of advertising your business IN an iPhone app, but I do think that your business HAVING and iPhone App can be really great. Having your app on their iPhone means they are seeing your name every time they look at their phone… and you know how much time people spend looking at their phone!
