Rachel Polish joins Ogilvy’s 360° Digital Influence team - Ogilvy PR’s global, digital word of mouth marketing practice - designed to manage brands at a time when anyone can be an influencer and we are all influenced in new ways. The team’s focus is on engaging through conversations, outreach to new influencers and word of mouth marketing.
Rachel most recently served as a Senior Public Relations Manager for SanDisk Corporation, managing global mobile consumer product communications, in addition to building comprehensive social media plans across all product lines.
Rachel’s early career began in the political arena, immediately gravitating toward the public relations aspect of campaigns and elected officials’ outbound efforts. Learning quickly, Rachel developed innovative ways to communicate to voters and stakeholders and frequently managed the entire outreach strategy for high-profile initiatives.
Rachel made her break into technology public relations during the early dot-com boom, where she worked for a boutique San Francisco agency, followed by three start-up companies. With so much competition for media attention at that time, Rachel understood how critical it was to creatively communicate with key influencers, resulting in unprecedented press coverage. She later worked for PR Newswire to advise clients on public relations best practices, introduce new ways to engage and in building clients’ outbound strategies.
Rachel is a frequent speaker and guest blogger, in addition to serving as public affairs specialist for the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. You can find Rachel exploring the social web and constantly investigating new, innovative ways to engage with key audiences.
